FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2026

HOURS: 11:00am - 7:00pm

We will be offering 5 free comics per person, and also have guests and sales!

Costumes are encouraged!

Parking will be challenging, because everyone loves free comics. To maintain safety and comfort, capacity will be carefully limited, so there will a line to get in for the first few hours. Consider parking at Weaver Park, on side streets, or being dropped off. Please carpool if you are able!

Free Comic Book Day Special Guests 2026:

Matthew K Manning is the author of dozens of comic books and over 100 prose books. He has written for DC, Marvel, IDW, Skybound, Abrams,  Scholastic, Disney, DK Publishing, Insight Editions, Capstone, Andrews/McMeel, Running Press, and several other publishers. Some of his favorite projects include the mini-series Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures, the hardcover The Batman Files, and the twelve-issue comic series Marvel Action: Avengers. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina with his wife Dorothy and his two goofball daughters, Lilly and Gwen.

Gregory Dickens is an award-winning veteran of publications for nearly 30 years. His work has appeared in daily and weekly newspapers, earning him state and national honors for illustration and design. A lifelong comics fan, he started Robot Wonderboy as an imprint for his own material in 2010. His works have also appeared in publications from Wide Awake Press, PopImage, Ronin Studios, and the Kayfabe anthology. He is a runner, cosplayer, and rasslin fan. He lives in Transylvania, NC. Yes, really.
